Allison dressed up as a princess for the Halloween and had been enjoying weekly playdates with her friends at school and dance class in the past two months.
We had a lot to thank for in this Thanksgiving. Grandpa was hospitalized on November 20th for gall bladder infection and stayed in the intensive care unit for 4 days for heart complication. We are very thankful that Grandpa was well enough to come home the day before Thanksgiving. We are also thankful that our good friend, Alice and her family, came over and spent the Thanksgiving evening with us. We hope you also had a great Thanksgiving.

Happy 81st Birthday, Grandpa
Grandpa celebrated his 81st birthday on September 4th. We are very happy that grandpa is doing very well after the quadruple bypass surgery. Here is a picture Allison took on September 7th.
She also loves to play with her friend, Avery.
We went to a pumpkin patch last Sunday with grandpa and grandma. Allison has a good time riding trains, petting goat, and riding pony.

Happy Birthday, Grace
Grace spent her birthday at the hospital with Grandpa yesterday. Although there were no wrapped gifts or balloons, Grace felt very happy and blessed because she received the best gift of all which was Grandpa's speedy recovery from his quadruple bypass heart surgery. Grandpa was in very good spirits and was able to sit up for several hours and walk about 75 feet.
It is so good to see Grandpa's beautiful smile again.
Another great gift Grace received was a big hug from Allison. Allison offered her favoriate blanet to Grace as a birthday gift which was very sweet and truly warmed Grace's heart. Here is a picture we took at Allison's first dance recital on June 28. Allison did very well and was quite a little ballerina. We are very proud of her. Look how cool grandpa looked. We can't wait for grandpa's full recovery and look forward to all the fun things we do together. It was a very good birthday for Grace.

Happy April and First Visit to Disneyland
We had a wonderful month of April. On April 5th, we went to High Sierra Snow Park with Christine, Steve, and Emma. Allison had a great time tubing and making snowman with Emma.
Allison also had a great time egg-hunting with grandma on Easter.
We then visited Disneyland on April 23rd. Allison met Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and all the princesses (Cinderalla, Snow White, Bell, and Ariel). Allison had a great time and couldn't wait to visit again.

Allison is potty-trained and Grace is back to work
Allison got potty-trained over the Valentine's Day weekend (Hooray!!!!) After trying on beautiful underpants her God-mommy gave her, Allison decided not to be on pull-ups anymore. After soiling five pants in one day, she realized that it was uncomfortable to have wet underpants on and that was it. Thank you, Allison, for making potty training such a easy and wonderful experience for us.
We met up with Emma's travel group for their second anniversary celebration. It was so much fun see all the kids playing together. We can't believe Allison has been with us for almost two years. It has been the most wonderful two years that we have ever had. Here is a picture of us with Emma's family.

Happy New Year and Get Well Soon, Grace
We had a great holiday. Allison's god-parents and god-sisters visited us. We also met up with Bruce, Maggie, Avery, and Kelly in San Francisco. We had a great time with all of them and look forward to seeing them soon.
Here is a picture with Allison's god-sisters ( from left Adelyn, Jasmine, and Tiffany). Allison had a lot of fun spending time with them.
On January 2nd, Grace experienced severe abdominal pain and was diagnosed with ruptured diverticulitis. Grace underwent partial colectomy to remove a portion of the colon on the same day. The surgery went okay but the subsequent complication of partial bowel obstruction, pancreatitus, and gastritis make the road to recovery a far-reached goal. Grace can only take liquids and no solid food now. Hopefully, Grace will get well soon and once again enjoy all the delicious food she used to love.

We also had a great time with Bruce, Maggie, Avery, and Kelly, who visited us from Southern California. It was wonderful to see Kelly, Allison, and Avery all grown up. We still vividly remembered the two weeks both families spent in China picking up Kelly and Allison. It was a fun and memorable trip, which will be cherished forever (please see our May 2007 postings for more details about our trip to China).
Here is a picture of Allison with Grandma. Both Grandma and Grandpa passed the U.S. citizenship test. We are very happy for them.
